Events related to early modern Asia hosted by the Department of Asian Languages and Cultures @UCLA
Asian Languages and Cultures is fortunate to have a cluster of faculty members and graduate students conducting research on early modern Asia—China, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam—in diverse disciplines ranging from literature to history, theater and performance, print and media studies, religion and religious studies, and anthropology. All of us are working together to advance knowledge relating to the loosely defined area of “early modern societies and cultures of Asia,” and have a strong interest in promoting new avenues of interregional and interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
The Early Modern Asian Studies Speaker Series hosts a number of events throughout the year @ UCLA to bring together exciting interregional and interdisciplinary collaborations among those working on early modern Asia.
